In a society largely dominated by images, the contribution of sound is often underestimated. Although we perceive the presence of sound we are rarely aware of the complexity of its process. Sound is one of the most important elements of a film; it carries emotions and is an integral part of storytelling, actively contributing to the reconstruction of reality. The SSFV – Syndicat suisse film et vidéo – invites film professionals and sound specialists to discuss the interaction between technique and aesthetics in the process of creating a soundtrack.
